2day Corsetry Making Weekend

Outline of the Class:

This intensive 2day corsetry master class will give students the chance to learn the unique skills and techniques involved in traditional corset making that is used in High-Fashion, Lingerie or Theatre and Film.

 Students will learn how to create a classic corset and will learn:
- what types of boning to use
- how to create various boning channels 
- how to insert a corset steel busk
- how to insert eyelets 
- how to add any decorations such as laces, ribbons etc

 The provided pattern is based on a victorian corset.

 This master class is suitable for students with an interest in lingerie or bridal wear.

- Students should have good sewing skills to attend the above class -

Saturday
- Introduction-
A guidance through a variety of specialist corsetry materials:
- what fabrics to use

- what boning types are available

Students will copy a basic corset pattern on paper and will cut the pattern pieces in fabric by the end of the day.

Sunday

Students will be guided step-by-step how sew a high quality corset to be used in Theatre or Fashion.
